- VISA APPOINTMENT PROCEDURE
- 1. Access the Portal — Visit the official Mexico Visa Appointment Portal at https://citas.sre.gob.mx using a desktop computer or laptop to begin the scheduling process.
- 2. Language Selection — Select your preferred language (English or French) at the top of the page before creating your account.
- 3. Account Creation — Register with your full name exactly as it appears in your passport.
- Note – that appointments are non-transferable and must match your travel documents.
- Browser Recommendations
Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for best performance. Avoid using
mobile phones or tablets as the system may not function properly.

ONCE YOU HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT
Appointment Day
Bring your appointment confirmation slip to the Embassy.
Only applicants with confirmed appointments will be allowed entry.
Interview Process
- Present all required documents (originals and photocopies).
- Biometric data (photograph and fingerprints) will be collected.
- Interviews take place at the Embassy of Mexico, Abuja.
- Electronic devices (phones, tablets, etc.) are not allowed inside the Embassy
TOURISM VISA REQUIRMENR
Applicable To: Foreign nationals entering Mexico as Visitors Without Permission to engage in Remunerated Activities for up to 180 days.
REQUIREMENTS
All documents must be submitted in person, in originals, and must match
your passport details.
- Visa Application Form – printed, duly filled, and signed. (Biometrics will be
collected; courier submissions are not accepted.)
- Valid Passport – with at least 6 months validity before expiration. Non-Nigerian citizens must show proof of legal residence in Nigeria.
- One (1) Passport Photograph – color photo, white background, no glasses or head coverings.
Proof of Financial Solvency – choose one of the following:
- Employment or pension documents showing minimum $1,359.34 USD/month (last 3 months) and proof of stable employment for 1 year.
- Bank or investment statements showing minimum average balance of $4,100 USD over the last 3 months.
- Proof of real estate ownership (min. 2 years) and stable employment for the past 2 years.
- Invitation letter from a recognized public or private organization (personal invitations are not accepted).
- Consular Interview – all applicants must attend in person.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- The Embassy may request additional documents after your interview.
- All names on documents must match exactly with your passport.
- Documents issued outside Nigeria must be legalized.
- Colour photocopies do not replace originals.
- Submitted documents will not be returned.
INVITATION LETTER REQUIREMENTS
If applying with an Invitation or Responsibility Letter from a Mexican organization / institution, it must include:
- Applicant’s full name and nationality.
- Name, address, and registration number of the inviting organization.
- Purpose and duration of visit.
- Details of the activity or project to be undertaken.
- Commitment to cover all expenses and return travel.
- Copy of the official ID (with signature and photo) of the signatory.
The letter must be personalized, original, and signed in person by an
authorized official of the inviting organization who can legally assume
responsibility
