1. Passport Data Page

  • A clear, coloured copy of your international passport biodata page.
  • Passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended stay.
  • Include copies of all previous Thai visas and immigration stamps (if applicable).

2. Passport Photograph

  • A recent passport-size photograph (taken within the last six months).
  • Must show full face, white background, and no eyeglasses.
  • A total of six (6) coloured passport photographs are required for NDLEA clearance.

3. Proof of Current Location

  • Provide a document confirming your current residence or location, such as:
  • Utility bill
  • Residence permit (for foreigners)
  • Work ID or tenancy document

4. Travel Booking Confirmation

  • A confirmed flight reservation showing your entry and exit dates to and from Thailand.
  • Do not purchase the actual ticket until your visa is issued.

5. Proof of Accommodation

  • Evidence of accommodation or invitation in Thailand, such as:
  • Hotel or Airbnb booking confirmation, or
  • Invitation letter from a host (family/friend) in Thailand — attach copy of their passport or residence permit.

6. Financial Evidence

  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay — a minimum of 20,000 Thai Baht (THB) per person.
  • Acceptable evidence includes:
  • Bank statements for the last three (3) months, signed and stamped by the
  • bank, or Sponsorship letter from your sponsor with supporting financial documents.

Sponsors must also provide:

  • A typed sponsorship letter stating relationship, trip purpose, and financial responsibility.
  • Tax Clearance Certificate.
  • Evidence of business transactions (if applicable).

7. Proof of Profession

  • Provide employment or professional evidence, such as:
  • Work ID or company letter, or
  • Business registration certificate (for self-employed persons).

8. Introduction Letter

  • A formal introduction letter from the applicant’s employer, confirming employment status, position, salary, and purpose of travel.

9. Police Character Certificate

An original Police Clearance Certificate confirming the applicant has no criminal record. Must include:

  • Online registration confirmation.
  • Passport photograph.
  • Copy of passport data page

10. NDLEA Drug-Free Certificate

Applicants must obtain a Drug-Free Clearance Certificate issued by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The following documents are required for NDLEA processing:

1. Certificate of Local Government or State of Origin

2. Six (6) colored passport photographs without eyeglasses

3. Official flat file (not plastic)

4. Coloured data pages (1–9) of the passport

5. Educational certificates (O’Level or Degree)

6. Typed application letter addressed to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, NDLEA, titled “Application for Visa Clearance” — state who is sponsoring the trip, the amount, and the source of funds

7. Original bank statement (signed, stamped, and dated by the bank)

8. Photocopy of sponsor’s tax clearance certificate

9. Proof of previous business transactions (if applicable)

10. Married women must provide a letter of approval to travel from their husband (with passport photograph attached)

11. Two (2) guarantors are required for the NDLEA interview — must not be immediate family members.

11. Accommodation & Flight Reservations

Reservation of accommodation in Thailand (hotel or apartment).

Reservation of return air tickets (round-trip).12. Passport Submission

Applicants are required to submit both current and previous passports.

Submission for Thai visa applications must be done physically at the Embassy of Thailand in Abuja.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • All documents must be clear, recent, and in English (or accompanied by a certified translation).
  • The Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General may request additional documentation.
  • Ensure that all documents (including police and NDLEA certificates) are authentic and verifiable, as falsification may result in refusal.
