DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

Tourist Visa

  • Passport: Valid at least three months after intended departure from Bulgaria, plus a photocopy of the data page.
  • Completed Schengen Visa Form: Duly filled, signed, and dated.
  • One Passport Photograph: Recent, white background.
  • Bank Statement: Minimum three months, stamped by the bank.
  • Travel Medical Insurance: Minimum coverage of EUR 30,000, valid for the entire stay.
  • Accommodation Proof: Hotel reservation or invitation letter covering the entire stay.
  • Flight Reservation: Round-trip booking.
  • Previous Visas: Photocopies of past Schengen or other visas, if any.

Important: Missing documents will result in the application not being accepted. If you have a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa (used at least once), you may enter Bulgaria without a new visa if your permitted stay is not yet exhausted.

Business Visa

  • Passport and Copy: Valid at least three months after departure.
  • Completed Schengen Visa Form: Duly filled, signed, and dated.
  • One Color Passport Photograph: Recent, white background.
  • Notary-Certified Invitation Declaration: Issued by the Bulgarian inviter as per official template.
  • Proof of Business Activity: CAC certificate or other company registration documents.
  • Bank Statement: Minimum six months, stamped by bank.
  • Travel Medical Insurance: Minimum coverage of EUR 30,000, valid for the entire stay.
  • Accommodation Proof: Hotel reservation or host confirmation.
  • Flight Reservation: Round-trip booking.
  • Proof of Past Business Transactions: With inviter, if available.
  • Previous Visas: Photocopies of past visas, if any.

Additional Information

  • Visa Fee: EUR 90 (cash only, banknotes issued after 2013).
  • Appointment: Must be requested via email (consular.abuja@mfa.bg) and confirmed three working days before your appointment date.
  • Processing Time: Minimum of 14 working days from the date of submission.
  • Submission: Applications must be submitted in person at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Abuja.
